Katie Shorter Fowler Fortescue Biography

Katie specialises in infrastructure and land-based projects across rural estates, working on technically complex agreements and negotiations within established legal and regulatory frameworks.

With over 20 years’ experience in estate and property management, her background spans private estates, public sector work and national infrastructure projects. She has particular expertise in easements, wayleaves, compulsory purchase and compensation, and has worked on complex schemes including Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects.

Katie is known for her precision and structured approach, ensuring that projects are properly understood, clearly documented and delivered in line with both legal and commercial requirements. She works closely with clients to maintain high standards of compliance while progressing projects efficiently and effectively.

A significant part of her current work includes negotiations for wind farm and renewable energy schemes, where she works with landowners, developers and professional teams to structure agreements and move projects through to delivery.

Alongside this, she continues to work across estate management, valuations and contract farming agreements, ensuring that assets are managed in line with both commercial objectives and regulatory requirements.

Katie is experienced in managing stakeholder relationships across landowners, tenants, infrastructure providers and public bodies, and brings a clear and dependable approach to navigating complex situations.

She combines strong technical knowledge with a practical and methodical way of working, ensuring that projects are carried through to completion with clarity and accuracy.
