David Holmes Fowler Fortescue Biography

David is known for his ability to bring clarity and alignment to complex estate situations, particularly where multiple stakeholders and competing interests are involved.

He has a natural ability to bring people together, working through complexity in a calm and considered way to reach outcomes that are both commercially sound and workable in practice. His approach is grounded in strong relationships, clear communication and a deep understanding of how estates operate day to day.

His work spans the ongoing management of rural estates alongside more involved projects, including diversification, property development, estate restructuring and strategic planning. He works across agricultural, residential and commercial property, supporting estates in a way that balances immediate needs with longer-term objectives.

As an Estate Manager with over 20 years’ experience, including a significant period at Savills, David brings a broad and practical understanding of estate management. He is also the firm’s utilities and compensation specialist, advising on complex infrastructure projects and loss of value claims, including his role as lead compensation surveyor for Thames Water.

Alongside his estate work, David is known for being approachable and supportive within the team, with a particular interest in mentoring and developing others.
