Key Experience

Simon has over 28 years estate and land management experience. He is a founder Partner and Senior Director of Fowler Fortescue.

Simon’s clients include several large prestigious estates across the South of England. He is also an appointed Trustee of a large Dorset estate and the representative for 3 foreign owned companies who are building and investing in the UK.

Simon is instrumental in formulating strategies with his clients to help them mark their stewardship of their estate. This includes generational tax and financial planning.

During his appointment as the Resident Land Agent of a 9000 acre landed estate, Simon introduced an intensive programme of investment and improvements turning the estate into a thriving diversified business without losing any of the traditional agricultural values.

Examples of Simon’s success in achieving his clients’ aims include the development of a commercial portfolio of c£1m rental income per annum – including a water bottling business, a bonded warehouse and 50 commercial tenants. Simon also has considerable experience of delivering income from diverse alternative energy projects such as solar, hydro, AD and biomass district heating together with estate wide hi-speed broadband.

Since entering into a business partnership with Anthony Fortescue in 2003, Fowler Fortescue has continued to grow. The company is now retained by 35 estates, covering over 200,000 acres with assets worth over £1 billion.
